THE OPPORTUNITIES:
PCMP - Employee Status, Newton, Full-time
OTs in PCMP will address the following:
-
functional deficits resulting in challenges returning to work
-
vestibular injuries, imbalance, dizziness and motion sensitivity
-
physical impairments, fatigue, and pain as a result of neurological injury
-
cognitive deficits and behavioural/personality changes
-
emotional difficulties such as frustration, fear/anxiety, and mood changes
-
medical issues associated with the injury or illness, such as musculoskeletal, neurological, vestibular, and/or substance abuse
-
clients’ understanding of their head injury and the healing process
Clinical duties include evidence-based assessment and rehabilitation services for clients who have sustained concussion, head injury, and/or mental health conditions. The goal of rehabilitation is to support clients return to work through in clinic and workplace interventions. The position involves cognitive assessment and intervention to address memory and attention deficits, functional assessment, graded work simulation programs, group and individualized education, goal setting, liaison with employers , clients, and referral sources, return to work planning and monitoring, and job site visits/job coaching.
The Occupational Therapist will work on a team that includes Physical Therapists, Neuropsychologists/Counselors, Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapists, Physicians, and Kinesiologists.
Early Concussion Assessment and Treatment (ECAT) - Full-time or Part-Time, Employee Status, Locations: Surrey, Abbotsford, Vancouver
The OT will provide:

evidence-based assessment and rehabilitation services for clients who have sustained a variety of work-related injuries and conditions
-
support clients return to work through in clinic and workplace interventions
-
functional assessment; graded work simulation programs; group and individualized education; goal setting; liaison with employers , clients, and referral sources; return to work planning and monitoring; and job site visits/job coaching
You will work in a team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Counselors, Physicians, Kinesiologists, and Case Managers.
You will have at least one year of experience directly related to the treatment of concussion and disability management and completed a concussion management course within the last three years would be highly preferred.
Community OT Services- Contractor Status
OTs will
meet with Clients virtually, in the community, or in their homes work in the areas of physical health, brain injury and mental health complete assessments, report writing, hospital discharge plans, home assessments, vehicle assessments and case management
Your team is in the community – you will consult and work with other health care providers to coordinate care for your Client. The Back in Motion team will provide you with all of the training, mentorship, administration and health and safety support you need to be successful in your role.
Your experience working with insurance payers or WorkSafeBC will be an asset, although we will provide training for those new to a third party setting.
Occupational Trauma Program - Full-time or Part-time, Employee Status, Locations: Surrey, Abbotsford, Vancouver
Occupational Therapist with experience with return to work, and functional and cognitive assessment relative to job demands within the context of mental health will be treating workers with work-related traumatic stress related disorders.
Your experience with desensitization and exposure therapy; experience with return to work planning and implementation (including coordination with employers and third-party payers); excellent clinical, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize with a focus on customer service; and an interest in active rehabilitation will be essential. Related experience in the areas of interdisciplinary treatment, community occupational therapy, functional capacity evaluations, and case management would be considered assets.
Note: Occupational Therapists need to be registered to practice in the province where the client is based.
